CrossFit is hard, uncomfortable, and it isn’t for everyone. But if you stick with it and you continue to pursue excellence in your fitness, you will see incredible results. CrossFit can empower you to break through physical and mental barriers, as long as you continue to have an open mind as an athlete.
Challenging Your Comfort Zone
CrossFit workouts are designed to challenge you in every aspect. You grow inside and outside of the gym by doing things that are outside of your comfort zone. Practice a skill that you aren’t familiar with. Add 5 extra pounds to your barbell. Exert yourself a little bit harder than you usually do. All of these small practices of going outside of your comfort zone will improve your adaptability as an athlete. Outside of the gym, you will be stronger and more resilient.
At CrossFit Showdown, we see it every day and we encourage our members to challenge themselves. As coaches, we’re here to guide you throughout your CrossFit journey so you know when to push and when to scale back. One of the biggest challenges that we see people overcome is jumping on a box. It can be daunting and intimidating, but with the right support and challenge from your coach, you can do it too!
Embracing the Power of Community
When you’re in our gym, you’re a part of our community. You’ll be connected with hundreds of other like-minded athletes that come to us for similar reasons that you are. Being around like-minded individuals will motivate you to push harder than you could have imagined. CrossFit is a community-driven experience and our community is full of exceptional athletes that love fitness. Our members keep coming back because of the camaraderie and support we continuously foster.
Building Physical Strength and Endurance:
Through a combination of gymnastics, weightlifting, and cardio, your strength and conditioning will undoubtedly improve. CrossFit utilizes functional movements that will translate outside of the gym. You’ll need to squat, press, and lift things off of the floor for the rest of your life, which is exactly why we train these crucial movement patterns.
Mental Resilience and Grit
As mentioned earlier, CrossFit is hard. The challenging workouts that you’ll do in our gym will build mental resilience and grit. At the end of every workout, you’ll be proud of your accomplishments and you’ll have an entire community of people to support you when you finish.
